In building a relationship means creating a safe environment where you trust and share openly without being afraid. As a couple, both parties must do their best to keep the relationship going.
But there are factors that can ruined a relationship. Physical abuse can quickly derail a relationship and may put one to a risk of serious injury.
It is well known that victims of physical abuse rarely get the chance to stand up for fear of risking their own lives or the retaliation of their partners.
This female netizen proved that she is a strong woman for telling her story.
The woman created an album on her Facebook account, documenting the abuse she experienced from her ex-boyfriend.
The 17 photos narrates a sad tale of a woman who was so in love with a man who had too little care for her well-being, let alone her life.
The album was uploaded last May 25, but according to the victim, the abuse started 3 years ago, July 22, 2015.
Ironically, that was also her birthday.
According to her first post, on her birthday, her ex-boyfriend wanted to go out and celebrate her special day. But she refused, thinking about the possible expenses. Later that day, a good friend asked her out to celebrate her birthday with other friends. Again, she politely refused. Instead, she was suggesting that they celebrate in their house. But, her ex-boyfriend then insisted that they go out along with a couple of his friends.
The night was going well but once they got home, her boyfriend suddenly got mad. Mayhem followed.
She sustained a black eye and other marks on her body just for that one night.
In a separate post, she uploaded a photo of a medico legal after she received another mauling from her boyfriend. The photo dated last May 27.
Then this netizen posted the last photos of her physical abuse. There were marks all over her body.
Fortunately, she had a strong will of breaking up with her abusive and overly jealous boyfriend. The guy wanted to talk things out especially after the exposure. But she did not agree to put the post down.
As of the moment, the victim is slowly recovering from the abuse as she spends quality time with her only son.
Violence against women and children is a crime under R.A. 9262. Victims of abuse must stand up to make the perpetrators pay for their inhumane acts.
