Though swimming has various advantages, but it also has a fair share of disadvantages. Open swimming like at sea, lake or river can increase the chances of drowning because the water currents are not stable like in pools. They are more dynamic and can pull you along with it.

A Facebook user named Diana Seisa-Villanos shared the poor situation of the man they rescued in the middle of the ocean. On her caption, the netizen narrated that they were on their way to the famous Vanishing Island of Samal when they happen to notice a man swimming in the vast ocean.
The tourists initially thought the man was drunk. When they saw the man waving his hands like he was asking for help, they no longer hesitated to rescue him.
While on the boat, the netizen somehow interrogated the man.
They asked the man where he came from and the man told them he's from San Franz (San Francisco Agusan del Sur).
The man pleaded to the tourists if they could drop him off to Barobo Island in Surigao del Sur.
He shockingly revealed he's been in the ocean for five days. Surprised with what they heard, the passengers were grateful that he survived. They immediately brought him to a hospital.
On the caption of the netizen, she said:
“Praise God nothing bad has happened to him and he is now with his family.”
Moreover, the Vanishing Island of Samal is famous as one of the top diving destinations in Davao City.
