Instead of selling the contents of her store, 70-year-old Evelina "Belina" Torres of Bgy. San Isidro, Cainta, Rizal, has been distributing it to her neighbors who have not been provided with relief goods yet.
According to her granddaughter Marites Edroso's Facebook post, her grandmother said she was very sad for people who could not work because of the lockdown.
"Mother Belina has closed shop. Our street does not receive any relief goods, so she does charity work. So she gives her merchandise to the needy." according to granddaughter Marites Edroso.
Although her grandmother was home alone because of the enhanced community quarantine, she does not seem to be missing out on the kindness and concern for her neighbor.
In the photos shared by her granddaughter, Grandma Belina can be seen in the store while holding her other merchandise carrying a bag containing biscuits and coffee sachets.
It's been two weeks that their area still hasn't received relief goods and that her grandma is compassionate towards her neighbors' joblessness due to the lockdown.
"Mom said, 'We have a lot of stock, we should help'," Marites said.
